The purpose of this privacy statement is to explain how H&J Hart Ltd processes all personal data to fulfil its data protection responsibilities.

The scope of this statement covers all related activities by the staff of H&J Hart Ltd trading as HJ Hart Property & Investments.

Role 

The role of H&J Hart Ltd in data protection terms is that of a data controller where it determines the purpose and use of personal data collected. Once received it becomes the responsibility of H&J Hart Ltd to ensure it is processed in accordance with the latest UK and EU data protection legislation.

Type of Data

The sort of personal data processed by H&J Hart Ltd will only be basic contact information for the purposes of networking, business development, preparing contracts and setting up invoices. Banking details will also be collected for the purpose of paying creditors.

Duty of Confidentiality 

This means H&J Hart Ltd will treat client and any employee data with due respect and in confidence. H&J Hart Ltd uses reasonable organisational and technical measures to ensure personal data is kept secure. 

We do not share your data with any third parties unless there is a lawful or legal reason to do so.

H&J Hart Ltd processes personal data in such instances:

Retention of Data

By law we have to keep basic information about our customers for 6 years after they cease being clients for tax purposes.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Your Legal Rights

  • The right to request a copy of the personal data which we hold about you;
  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary to retain such data;

  • The right to request that we provide you with your personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability), where applicable i.e. where our processing is based on consent or is necessary for the performance of our contract with you or where we process your data by automated means); 
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;
  • The right to object to our processing of personal data, where applicable i.e. where processing is based on our legitimate interests (or in performance of a task in the public interest/exercise of official authority); direct marketing or processing for the purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics).
